HELPS LAUNCH LITTLE LEAGUE SEASON

Algonquin, IL – MEGA Home Improvement of Algonquin stepped up to the plate to get the Snack Stand back in service for the opening of the Little League season at Lundahl School. In the spring of 2005 another contractor replaced shingles on the Snack Stand but when the Stand was being readied for this years season, manager John Striet found that the roof had leaked throughout the winter. The contractor and several volunteers attempted repairs but without results.

Five days before season opener the Snack Stand was still in no shape to store food. John Streit heard a MEGA advertisement on WGN radio and decided to send an email about the problem. MEGA sent out a roofing engineer to take a look and a couple of days later replaced the shingles with a water secure rubber surface.

According to Mr. Streit when he asked about the cost, he was told “We really don’t feel right about charging Little League … we’ll work out something.” The something MEGA worked out was to donate the work. After all, the game must go on!
